“Lets’s Do the Monster Mash!” NMAMBC #12 “A Very Wolf-Man Poem”

June 11, 2012 by paula 1 Comment

Migraine Awareness Month #12: “Let’s Do the Monster Mash!”

“Choose a movie monster that reminds you of your Migraines and tell us why.”

                             “A Very Wolf-man Poem”…

In my head

There is a monster –

Living,

Breathing,

Leaving behind his mess.

There is pain

In all four corners –

Splitting,

Tearing,

Scarring my soul.

Sometimes he’s sleeping,

And I can rest.

Peace,

Relief –

Now, alone… at last.

I’m always surprised

When the wolf-man returns;

Panic,

Sadness –

Brains scramble for cover.

This clinging beast

Won’t be leaving.

Persist,

Exist –

Teeth, always gnashing.

I know the cure

Won’t likely be

Bullets,

Silver,

Avoiding his luminosity.

We’ll co-exist

 Lycanthrope and I:

Planning,

Hiding

From the next ferocity…

Life is….awareness. That gut instinct, that conscience. To be in TUNE, to recognize different elements and signs. Your senses.

ABOUT ME

Joy

…We are all born with it–Joy. We exude enough of it as children to fill all the adult hearts in any room. We’ve no need to be taught how to smile on a sunny Saturday morning, dance in muddy spring puddles, delight as a butterfly alights on our noses. Joy is our birthright–our spiritual birthmark.
