Migraine Awareness Month #30: “Blogger’s Pick”
“Choose your favorite blog from any of this month’s prompts from someone else’s blog to share with us and tell us why it’s your favorite.”
What a month! I was allowed an intimate and inspiring view into so many other lives affected by Migraine Disease this month, including my own. By writing AND reading the information and emotional stories in these posts, I have been uplifted, moved and I’ve learned more than I ever thought possible – about myself as well as others.
My hope is that this disease will be eradicated sooner because of us – the Migraine Bloggers – and that no one will have to continue to suffer, lose their careers, friends and families… and time to this cruel disease of pain, misunderstanding & loss. Migraine takes away so much – stealing from us while the world watches.
The “watching” is sometimes innocent – many people just don’t understand and have no idea what a thief this disease is. They only know what they’ve heard and been led to believe by the media, incompletely trained doctors, and an archaic system locked in the past. But sometimes the “watching” is neglectful – our cure, our help, and our understanding is held hostage to a system with very little funding, almost nil support and outdated medical care. Our’s is truly a disease left to it’s own devices…
I can’t choose a post or a blogger that inspired me: they ALL have. I was uplifted by humor; moved to tears by stories of children that may never be born because of this horrible disease; and reassured by praise and the gentle support that so many of you gave me. I hope I have done the same for all of you.
I won’t forget any of you or of what we’ve accomplished in this short month. We have made a difference because of each other – and that’s no small feat against a force as tough and immovable as Migraine. I am so proud of each and every one of us – God Bless you all.
Peace be with you all as you make your journey through this beautiful world…
